“Cool roof”, civil and industrial roof thermal treatments

Fields of use: roofs of sheds, houses, warehouses, containers, silos, farms, terraces, canopies, tents, RVs, etc.

In a building, 35% of heat loss occurs through the walls and 25% through the roof. Therefore, a significant amount of energy is needed to keep interiors cool in summer and warm in winter. Thanks to special paint that reflects solar radiation and keeps the surface temperature lower, compared to traditional coating, with Cool materials it is possible to counteract the negative effects of the Urban Heat Island (UHI). Thus, cool roof technology is born.

Benefits:

  • Sensible internal temperature reduction
  • Remarkable energy savings
  • Increased comfort and “hot head” effect reduction
  • Effective tool in the fight against global warming
  • Less degradation of cover materials over time
  • Water impermeability, even in case of prolonged water stagnation
  • Improvement of the IBA (animal welfare index) for breeding farms

SPOT-FIX

Water-based, stain-resistant fixative.

Spot-Fix is a sealant fixative and stain-resistant insulator to be used as a primer for the treatment of old bituminous, smooth or slated membranes. It is ideal for walls in masonry, gypsum, plasterboard and concrete whenever impregnated with nicotine or with dry moisture stains. To optimise the performance of the painting cycle, Spot-Paint water-based, stain cover paint is recommended as a finish. It is ideal in environments such as bakeries, food factories and bars, etc.

  • Very high stain-resistant and penetrating strength.
  • It improves finishing paint anchoring and binding.
  • Uniform colour absorption.

On internal and external supports – new or already painted – suitably prepared, clean, dry and brushed. If there is mould on inside walls, first apply a suitable coat of Lindofix, while on outside walls with algae formation, use Lindostop. After 24 hours, apply a coat of Spot-Fix. If the membrane is new, it is recommended to wait 5-6 months before applying the fixative and the finishing product (Thermo-Gum, Thermo-Gum Evolution or THERMO-GUM Calpestabile (Walk on)). New membranes release oily substances that could compromise binding and the duration of the application cycle, causing unsightly stains.

THERMO-LUX for skylights

Modified acrylic paint for exteriors, semi-clear, heat-reflecting, water-repellent and anti-algae with high resistance to atmospheric agents.

It is used in civil and industrial building works for the protection of fibreglass, polycarbonate and glass skylights which  generate excessive heat and glare, such as domes, small domes and parts intended to maintain proper window/floor surface ratios. The high solar reflectance values block 90% of UV radiation and reflect 90% of IR radiation, thus preventing indoor overheating and making all living and working environments more comfortable and cooler, preventing the risk of the “hot head” effect.  Thermo-Lux lowers the internal temperature, significantly reduces the use of cooling systems and contributes, thanks to energy savings, to a reduction in CO2 atmospheric emissions. It is the definitive solution to all overheating problems caused by roof-mounted skylights in industrial buildings, which in the summer can compromise the storage of perishable goods and cosmetics, etc., stored on upper floors due to high temperatures. It improves worker performance, increasing productivity and reducing the risk of injuries and/or cases of heat syncope. The semi-clear appearance of the applied varnish allows transit of a large part of the visible light (70%), while ensuring high but diffused light transmission without aggravating glare (90% glare reduction). The opalescent finish prevents viewing inside from the outside. Applicable using a spray gun, it bonds directly to suitably prepared surfaces; it reduces expansion and thermal and mechanical surface stress, and it extends the skylight life cycle.

  • Reduction of glare (preventing bothersome reflections on video terminals).
  • Produced with good solar reflectance values.
  • Cool roof heat treatment, as an effective tool in the fight against global warming.
  • Enhancement of indoor living comfort and reduction of the “hot head” effect.
  • It improves productivity in working environments.
  • Reduction of energy use, generating energy and cost savings.
  • Reduction of expansion and surface thermal and mechanical stress.
  • Lower degradation of roofing materials over time: less maintenance over time and greater savings.

On a suitably prepared, clean and dry substrate, apply a recommended thickness of approx. 150/200 μm, corresponding to 2 coats. Maintenance: Wash the treated surface at least every 12 months. If necessary, repeat painting, applying one coat only.

THERMO-LUX Evolution

Polyurethane, heat-reflecting and semi-clear varnish with restructuring action. Ideal for fibreglass surfaces showing wear and tear.

Thermo-Lux Evolution is used in civil and industrial buildings as a semi-clear, heat-reflecting, water-repellent and anti-algae polyurethane varnish for exteriors. It is especially suitable for protecting sloping surfaces in fibreglass, polycarbonate and glass, such as domes, small domes and parts intended to maintain the correct window/floor surface area ratios, to which it bonds directly. Much of the UV radiation (90%) is blocked, while IR radiation (90%) is reflected, preventing internal overheating and rendering all environments more comfortable, preventing the risk of the “hot head” effect. It means that painting has a longer life, thanks to high resistance to atmospheric agents. The semi-clear appearance of the applied varnish allows transit of a large part of visible light (70%), while ensuring high but diffused light transmission without aggravating glare (90% glare reduction). Remarkable glare reduction (approx. 90%). The finish renders the surface opalescent, thus preventing viewing inside from the outside.  It increases building energy optimisation, improves thermal insulation and contributes, thanks to energy savings, to a reduction of CO2 atmospheric emissions. It does not yellow over time and allows full and even finishes to be achieved, which allow water vapour to pass and are water-repellent.
